Enhancing Family Engagement Series Module 1: Welcoming All Families into the School Community

The purpose of this module is to assist school staff in creating and fostering a welcoming school environment for all students, families, and community members. 

About This Course

The objectives for this module are as follows:
•Understand the research base and legislative mandates that compel schools to address family-school partnerships.
•Identify strategies that set a tone that resonates a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for families and community members.
•Identify strategies that assure the school's physical environment is welcoming and accessible.
•Construct an action plan to address an inclusive, supportive, and accepting school culture that welcomes and engages families at the district, school, and classroom levels.
